1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sri Krishna Agency, operating as Makhana Today, handles personal information through makhanatoday.com, buyer and seller accounts, sourcing requests and related support communications. Business information can be personal information when it identifies an individual. This notice describes the features in the current website; separate providers have their own privacy notices.
2. Information you provide
Registration collects your full name, business or company name, email address, chosen password, buyer or seller role and city or district. The backend stores a password hash rather than a readable password. Seller records include product grade, district, price per kilogram, stock quantity, packing notes and price-change history. Purchase and bulk requests include listing and account references, grade, quantity, recorded price, delivery city, requirements, request type, status and timestamps. Sample requests record the buyer, seller, listing and request time. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your phone number, correspondence and supporting documents.
3. Session and technical information
The account system uses a first-party session cookie named makhana_session to keep you signed in and support request security. It is configured as a browser-session cookie, although browser restore settings can affect how long it remains. The website and hosting infrastructure may also process IP addresses, browser or device details, requested URLs, timestamps and error or security logs. Blocking essential cookies can prevent account functions from working.
4. Why information is used
We use account details to register and authenticate users, provide the appropriate workspace and respond to support requests. Listing and request records enable catalogue display, sourcing, samples, order tracking and price history. Technical information supports operation, troubleshooting and prevention of misuse. Relevant records may also be used to handle disputes, comply with legal obligations and protect lawful interests. Optional promotional contact requires a separate appropriate permission where required; creating an account alone should not be treated as consent to unrelated marketing.
5. What other users can see
Seller company names, source district, grade, prices and stock information appear in the marketplace catalogue for signed-in users. Treat listing and packing notes as information intended for potential buyers. Order and sample records are associated with the participating buyer and seller and are available through their account workflows; MT may use relevant business or contact information to help fulfil a request. We do not publish your password hash. Do not add Aadhaar, bank credentials, health information or other unnecessary personal information to free-text fields.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
Information needed to operate the service may be handled by hosting, database, technical support and communications providers acting for MT. Relevant details may be shared with the identified transaction partner and, where arranged for fulfilment, the logistics provider. We may disclose information when required by law or to investigate fraud, protect people or pursue or defend legal claims. A buyer or seller receiving information for its own business purposes is responsible for its own handling of that information.
7. External resources and links
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, icons or code from external CDNs including cdnjs and unpkg, and map resources from OpenStreetMap. Your browser contacts those services and can disclose your IP address and request or browser information to them. Their processing is governed by their own policies. Telephone links open your device’s calling application. The supplied website code does not include an advertising tracker or integrated payment gateway; this statement does not cover services later added to the live deployment.
8. Storage and international processing
Account and marketplace records are stored in the database used by the website’s hosting setup. The supplied files do not establish the server’s physical location. External resource and support providers may process information in other countries. Any transfers must follow restrictions and safeguards required by the Indian laws applicable at the time. We do not claim that all information stays in India.
9. Retention and account closure
We retain account information while it is needed to provide the account and resolve associated requests. Order, sample, price and support records may need to remain for fulfilment, accounting, legal requirements, fraud prevention or disputes after an account is closed. Information should be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention and backup cycles. The current interface has no self-service deletion tool; contact us to request closure or deletion. Closing an account does not automatically cancel an existing transaction.
10. Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact us to request access to information about you, correction, deletion or account closure, or to raise a privacy grievance. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it by contacting us; this does not undo earlier lawful processing and may affect the service you requested. Rights under Indian data protection law apply to the extent the relevant provisions are in force and applicable. We may verify your identity proportionately and explain if some information must be retained or a request cannot be fulfilled. Never send your password or an OTP as proof of identity.
11. Security
The supplied account code includes password hashing, session-based access controls and request security tokens. These measures reduce certain risks but do not establish that every part of the live deployment is secure. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, protect your email account, log out on shared devices and report suspicious account activity promptly. Any required incident notifications will follow applicable law.
12. Children
MT’s business accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or above. Children should not register or submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided information through the service, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
